Dear Merrimac Light Customer:
I would like to briefly introduce myself as the new general manager of the Merrimac Municipal Light Department (MMLD). My name is Mary Usovicz. I am looking forward to providing the best public power service in Massachusetts. With over 25 years’ experience in the energy industry both in the private and public sector, I want you to know that my first priority is to provide you a safe, reliable and cost-effective electrical service.
For over 118 years, MMLD has provided first rate service to the residents of Merrimac. Our community is fortunate to have a dedicated, hard-working team at MMLD. Including our dedicated and caring commissioners. As a public power customer, you benefit from a lower electric energy bill of 15% less than the large privately owned electric utilities. We work every day to improve our system to reduce outages through vegetation management programs, pole integrity programs and improving our distribution system.
In the coming months, the MMLD team will be participating in the Old Home Days celebration. We hope that you will stop by our information table and learn more about the electrical services we provide to the Town of Merrimac.
