Over the past year, the Merrimac Municipal Light Department has been upgrading our system to smart meters. These new meters allow us to detect outages automatically and provide real-time notifications directly to you — including estimated restoration times.

Instead of you having to report an outage, your meter will immediately alert us and send you a notification.

If you received a postcard from us in the mail, it’s because we currently do not have a valid email address or cell phone number on file for your account. Without this information, we cannot send you outage alerts.

Knowing about an outage — whether you are home or away — allows you to take steps to protect your property and respond quickly if needed.
